*Among Us*, the animated TV show adaptation of the popular video game, is here. No, seriously! We know it's been a couple of years since the creators officially finished production, and there's been little word on what's going on with the project, but all 10 episodes of the first season just surprise-dropped on Paramount+ today.

The news broke Friday on stage at the Summer Game Fest in Los Angeles, where members of the voice cast, Yvette Nicole Brown and Liv Hewson, helped unveil the new trailer for those in the audience and watching from afar on the livestream.

Created by Owen Dennis, *Among Us* takes its premise directly from the party game of the same name. It follows a group of monochromatic crewmates aboard a ship that's transporting junk across the galaxy. They must root out an Impostor who's going around killing them one by one.

The cast includes Brown as Orange, Hewson as Black, Kimiko Glenn as Cyan, Ashley Johnson as Purple, Wayne Knight as Lime, Phil LaMarr as Brown, Randall Park as Red, Dan Stevens as Blue, Debra Wilson as Yellow and Computer, Elijah Wood as Green, and Patton Oswalt as White.

During a public lecture at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in March 2025, Dennis revealed he wrapped production on *Among Us* the previous August with animation from Titmouse. Those actively tracking the developments wondered about the holdup.

The last update came this past January from Innersloth, the developer of the video game. A blog post stated, "IT’S NOT DEAD OKAY, DON’T WORRY." (Caps lock included.)

The game, which is essentially Mafia, hit big with nearly 500 million monthly active users by its peak in the fourth quarter of 2020, no doubt fueled by the at-home isolation of the COVID-19 pandemic. It generated more than 4 billion views on YouTube and over 1.22 billion viewing sessions on Twitch.

In just October 2020, *Among Us* ranked No. 1 on Google Play in 66 countries and on iOS in 55 countries. It also scored placements in the Top 100 for nearly every market worldwide.
