Ana Gasteyer recently reminisced about her time on *Saturday Night Live, *revealing the one thing she would change about the experience.
The *American Auto* star said she wished she had been more in the moment during her six-year tenure at the variety show. She was always worried about the tight scheduling of the taping because going over time would lead to cut sketches.
"My greatest regret about this show, not that you would go back in time, is that I never settled into it and enjoyed it because I was always so aware of the time and of running down the clock," Gasteyer told her former castmate, Amy Poehler, on a recent episode of the *Good Hang* podcast*.*

Gasteyer recalled the "explosive" talent on *SNL* at the time. During her time on the show between 1996 and 2002, she shared the screen with comedy heavyweights like Poehler, Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Rachel Dratch, Molly Shannon, and more. As a result, there were always several sketches that might not make it into the broadcast.
"I always felt like I had to like keep it moving, keep it moving," Gasteyer said.

During *SNL50*, the *Mean Girls* actress said she took advantage of the fact that the special was going to be streamed. Since there was no rush, she took an extra 45 seconds to shush the crowd as the fan-favorite character Bobbi Mohan-Culp, an awkward music teacher played alongside Ferrell's Marty Culp.
"I was like, I'm going to keep going until they settle," she said. "I'm not going to worry about it. And if I had been at 8H, we never would have done that."
