The legal troubles of Cher's son, Elijah Blue Allman, are far from over.

Allman, who was arrested in late February after an alleged trespassing incident at a New Hampshire school, will go to trial for the case, ABC affiliate WMUR reported on Monday, April 20. The court proceeding is set to begin June 16, per the outlet.

Allman, the sole son of Cher and late Allman Brothers Band singer Gregg Allman, was arrested on Feb. 27 following an alleged disturbance at St. Paul's School, a college-preparatory boarding school in Concord, local police confirmed to People magazine and WMUR.

Per WMUR, authorities were alerted after Allman was reported as an "unwanted guest" on the school's property. The Deadsy frontman, who reportedly has no association with St. Paul's, was allegedly seen in the dining hall and was "causing a disturbance and acting belligerently."

Allman was charged with two counts of simple assault, criminal trespassing, criminal threatening and disorderly conduct, People and WMUR reported at the time.

Regarding his outstanding charges, Allman waived his arraignment, a hearing during which an accused person's charges are formally read in court and a plea is typically entered, according to WMUR. Waiving an arraignment allows someone to submit their plea in written form in lieu of appearing before a judge.

Representatives for Allman were not available for comment at the time of publication. USA TODAY has reached out to Cher's reps for comment.

Elijah Blue Allman legal trouble: Cher's son arrested after alleged assault

Although Allman was released on personal recognizance bail after his February arrest, he was arrested again on March 1 following a purported break-in at a couple's Windham, New Hampshire, home. He was charged with burglary, two counts of criminal mischief and breach of bail.

In response to Allman's legal troubles, as well as his decadeslong history of substance abuse, Cher requested a temporary conservatorship for her son's estate on April 16, according to court documents previously obtained by USA TODAY. This marks the singer's second attempt at securing a conservatorship for her son following a 2023 filing.

Cher, who nominated private fiduciary Jason Rubin to be Allman's conservator, asked the court to allow Rubin to oversee her son's finances, including receiving distributions from Allman's trust fund, managing a conservatorship account for his money and paying expenses on Allman's behalf.

"Elijah's situation has become dire on multiple fronts," Cher's attorney, Justin B. Gold, wrote in the filing, noting that Allman is currently staying at a psychiatric hospital in New Hampshire following his recent arrests.

"His mental health has severely deteriorated, his financial situation is terrible and his drug dependency is at its worst," Gold continued. Cher "is requesting that this court enter an order appointing Mr. Rubin as temporary conservator of the estate so that Elijah's situation can start being fixed one problem at [a] time."
