Harriet Sperling is set to play an unexpected role for Kate Middleton following her royal wedding, which took place on Saturday.
Nurse Harriet married Peter Phillips on June 6, with their wedding ceremony taking place in Cirencester, England. The ceremony was attended by royal family members including the Princess of Wales, King Charles and Queen Camilla.
Harriet and Peter, who made their public debut in 2024, hosted their reception at Princess Anne's estate, Gatcombe Park. Anne's only son was previously married to Autumn Kelly, who is the mother of his two teenage daughters. During Peter and Harriet's wedding, Kate had an awkward run-in with an ex-boyfriend.

Harriet appears to have been warmly welcomed into the royal family, with Kate said to have already grown close to her.
She is said to share much in common with Prince William's wife, with both coming from upper-middle-class families in neighboring Berkshire and Gloucestershire.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Harriet will likely become the "sister-in-law Kate that never had" following her wedding to Peter.
The 44-year-old has seen Meghan Markle - Prince Harry's wife - step away from royal life and relocate to America, as well as Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie be surrounded by controversy due to their father and mother's connection to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Kate, however, is said to be close to Prince Edward's wife, the Duchess of Edinburgh, who also joined the royal family through marriage.

Leading the lineup of royals who celebrated Peter and Harriet over the weekend was King Charles and Queen Camilla. The Prince and Princess of Wales also attended the festivities. Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 11, and eight-year-old Prince Louis were absent from the big day.
The occasion also saw Princess Anne and her former husband, Mark Phillips, mark their son's milestone. Sir Timothy Laurence, who married Anne in 1992, also made an appearance on his stepson's wedding day.
