Kim Kardashian revealed she's homeschooling her 12-year-old daughter, North
North takes "realistic courses," such as brand building and music, to nurture her interests
"It's been so fun to see her blossom," Kim said of her daughter
Kim Kardashian is helping her daughter North West follow her interests through homeschooling.
The reality TV star, 45, appeared on her sister Khloé Kardashian's podcast Khloé in Wonder Land on Wednesday, Jan. 21, and shed some light on how she's approaching her 12-year-old daughter's education.
Kim told Khloé that North is being homeschooled, and her education is comprised of "realistic courses." For example, North is taking a brand-building class because she "had an idea of making hats and making jewelry ... so we made it a course," Kim said.
"It's been so fun to see her blossom," added Kim.
North is also taking a course in music, Kim said, which is a reflection of her daughter's budding music career.

The 12-year-old recently released a snippet of a new song, titled "Piercing on My Hand (Ye Version)," which seemingly referenced her new dermal piercings and her love for tattoos, as well as her relationship with school. North shared the clip of her new song, which is a collaboration with her rapper dad Kanye West, on her Instagram Stories.
"Piercing on my hand, the other holding bands / No friends, just filter, you wouldn’t understand," North rapped in the song. "Went to school for two days, then I got banned / Skipping school, yeah, I do it on the daily / Got some new rings, yeah, they’re so crazy."
Khloé noted that North's music producing has given Kim and her ex-husband, North's father Kanye West, something to bond over, and that the former couple seemed to be "in a much better place because of that."
"The music side and the producing isn't my thing, and that's her bonding with her dad... But we have to communicate about how North moves through this world," Kim replied, adding that "respecting his opinion on the things that go on with his kids is really important" to her.
Kim recognized that the general misconception about her as a parent is that she acts as North's "bestie," she said, but clarified that her parenting approach is more complex than that.
"No, Northy actually has a lot of rules," Kim said. "The one area is, I do let her express herself and I do let her do that. I love her for that. And she would do it regardless."
