Rapper Lil Tjay was reportedly arrested after Offset‘s unfortunate shooting incident. Cardi B’s ex was shot outside a Florida casino. A spokesperson for the Seminole Police Department revealed that Merritt was charged with disorderly conduct, specifically affray. Tjay’s lawyer, Dawn M. Florio, released a statement via Instagram clarifying that his client was not legally connected to the case.

Rapper Lil Tjay was reportedly arrested in connection with the recent Offset shooting incident. On April 7, TMZ reported that the former Migos rapper was shot near a popular casino in Florida. His representative confirmed to the outlet that Cephus (real name) was shot on Monday near the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
Now, as per new developments in the case, the Seminole Police Department revealed that Tjay was “charged in connection with the incident” in the valet area outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood (via Entertainment Weekly).
Merritt (Tjay’s real name) entered Broward County Jail on Monday night after authorities charged him with affray, a first-degree misdemeanor. A spokesperson confirmed that officers also detained a second, unnamed person at the scene but did not file charges against them. Authorities continue to investigate the case to determine whether additional individuals were involved

Tjay’s lawyer, Dawn M. Florio, released a statement on Instagram. It clarified that her client was not legally involved in the shooting incident. Florio wrote, “Lil Tjay has not been shot, nor has Lil Tjay been charged with any shooting. Any reporting to the contrary is false. We encourage people to consult trusted news sources and to verify the accuracy of any reporting before reflexively sharing or repeating baseless rumors.”
A representative of Offset previously told EW, “We can confirm he was shot and is currently at the hospital receiving medical care. He is stable and being closely monitored.” A source close to the Police said, “Seminole Police were on site immediately, and the situation was contained quickly. Police have detained two individuals. In fact, the investigation is ongoing. Plus, the site is secure, and there is no threat to the public. Operations continue as normal.”
