Speculation surrounding Marvel Studios‘ X-Men reboot continues to grow, particularly over which mutant will serve as the lead. During a recent interview, Kevin Feige was asked directly whether Jean Grey, Cyclops, or another iconic character would lead the new film. Feige did not reveal Marvel Studios’ plans but responded to the speculation surrounding the reboot.
Kevin Feige answers the big X-Men question
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has responded to growing speculation about the creative direction of the upcoming X-Men reboot. However, he stopped short of confirming one of the biggest speculations in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
During an interview with Josh Horowitz, Feige was asked whether the new X-Men film would be led by Cyclops, Jean Grey, Professor X, or another character. The interviewer questioned, “Can you say anything about who’s the voice of the audience? Who’s the eyes and ears of the audience in the film?” Feige acknowledged the question before jokingly avoiding it.

The executive said, “No, but you’re asking good questions, Josh. Maybe we’ll do this on a panel,” prompting laughter. Looking toward the camera, Feige added, “There’s a reason he goes right to the thing I didn’t talk about on stage. That’s why he’s good. That’s why he’s good.”
The conversation later shifted to Marvel Studios’ plans for the X-Men franchise. Asked what stories the studio is interested in exploring, Feige pointed to the “ton” of the source material. “There is a ton. There are sagas upon sagas upon sagas within the X-Men that we’re very excited to delve into,” he said.
Feige’s comments arrive amid continued speculation about the team’s lineup. Last month, insider @MyTimeToShineH claimed that Jean Grey is currently expected to serve as the lead in Marvel’s X-Men reboot. However, the report has not been confirmed by Marvel Studios or any official source.
