After making history at the 2026 Golden Globes, beloved star Amy Poehler's popular *Good Hang* podcast shockingly failed to follow up its awards season success with a nomination from a prestigious awards body — and ** has learned why.

Upon the Podcast Academy's nominations announcement Wednesday for the 2026 Ambies, Poehler's *Good Hang* — which won the Globes' first Best Podcast prize on Jan. 11 — was nowhere to be found on the full list of nominees.

EW has since confirmed with a source that Spotify, which distributes the celebrity-studded series on its platform, historically does not submit for awards, likely leading to the show not showing up in any category at the Ambies.

Founded in February 2020, the Podcast Academy describes itself as a nonprofit professional membership group "that celebrates excellence in podcasting and elevates awareness of podcasts as an indispensable medium for entertainment, information, and creative expression."

Poehler won the Globes' inaugural Best Podcast award over strong competition, including her ex-husband Will Arnett, whose *SmartLess* podcast (also hosted by Jason Bateman and Sean Hayes) earned three nominations at the Ambies for Podcast of the Year, Best Comedy Podcast, and a nod for the trio in the Best Podcast Host category.

The other nominees for Podcast of the Year are *Call Her Daddy*, *Crime Junkie*, *Pablo Torre Finds Out*, *Pod Save America*, *Question Everything*, *Reveal*, *The Last Invention*, *The Mel Robbins Podcast*, and *Wisecrack*. None of the Podcast of the Year nominees hail from Spotify.

Despite not showing up among the Ambies nominations, *Good Hang *regularly makes headlines for its interviews and content.

In August, Poehler welcomed her *Parks and Recreation* costar Aubrey Plaza to the show for an emotional interview about grief following the death of Plaza's husband Jeff Baena.

"It's an alien movie with Miles Teller. In the movie, there's a cliff on one side and a cliff on the other side, and a gorge in between that's filled with monster people trying to get them," Plaza explained on the show, referencing the 2025 movie *The Gorge*.

She continued, "I swear when I watched it I was like, 'That feels like what my grief is like,' or what grief could be like. At all times, there's a giant ocean of awfulness that's right there and I can see it. Sometimes I just want to dive into it and be in it, and sometimes I look at it. Sometimes I try to get away from it. It's always there, and the monster people are trying to get me — like Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy."

Other notable guests Poehler has hosted on the show include Michelle Obama, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Lawrence, and more.

On stage at the 2026 Golden Globes, Poehler accepted her Best Podcast award from rap superstar Snoop Dogg, which Poehler referenced in her speech.

"This is exactly how I pictured it: Snoop giving me the award!" Poehler said. "I don't know about awards shows, but, when they get it right, it makes sense. Thank you so much for this."

The 2026 Ambies winners will be announced Monday, Feb. 23 during On Air Fest at the Arlo Williamsburg in New York City.
