DC‘s Absolute Universe has unveiled a chilling redesign of a popular Wonder Woman villain. It’s certainly not for the faint of heart.
The latest issue of Absolute Wonder Woman #25, from writer Kelly Thompson and artist Hayden Sherman, will drop on Oct. 28, 2026. Ahead of its release, DC has unveiled a brand-new look for Absolute Cheetah. The first look depicts the villain as a gigantic version of Cheetah. Previously, the Absolute Universe redesign of the Joker attracted attention for resembling a giant dragon.

The reimagined Absolute Cheetah embraces body horror, fitting the Absolute Universe’s dark aesthetic. Apart from the character’s massive size, the DC villain features a grotesque blend of fur and flesh that looks terrifying. Another striking detail is the presence of multiple human-like faces wrapped around the creature’s main feline face.

If the redesign is any indication, the October issue could deliver a much darker story. The official Absolute Wonder Woman #25 solicitation from DC reads, “The world-shaking “Heretic” arc kicks into a new gear as Diana’s search for Barbara Minerva comes to a bloody end in a milestone oversized issue! Do not miss the debut of the devastating Absolute Cheetah — she’s not quite what anyone expected… which is the only way Barbara Minerva would have it!”
DC’s Absolute Universe is an alternate reality created by Darkseid. In this reality, Darkseid altered the characters’ origin stories and appearances. This allows the characters to look drastically different from their counterparts in the main DC Universe. And this is the same reason why DC and its creative team have the liberty to experiment freely with the well-known characters.
